With this TU-95, named after the city of Irkutsk in the Lake Baikal region, a model of the third bomber regiment appears for the first time, which operates the heavy bomber in addition to the 79th and 184th regiments. The 182nd Regiment is based on Ukrainka in the Amur province in the Far Eastern part of Russia. The TU-95MS variant, introduced in 1981, enables the bomber originally designed in the 1950s to carry cruise missiles, which it first demonstrated in 2015 as part of the Russian intervention in the Syrian civil war.
